New House, New Blog!

Hi Guys!! It's been forever!  I never really planned to take so much time off, but it turns out I really needed it.

This year has been CRAZY, but things are finally settling down.  Most exciting is I bought a house in Maine with my boyfriend, Matt.  It's a 1940s Cape Cod with lots of charm and potential.

After much thought, I've decided to retire Home with Baxter.  I met so many great people through this blog and I couldn't have imagined the opportunity and joy that it brought me.  As silly as it sounds, it really changed my life!  That being said, I'm ready to close one chapter and move on to the next.

I thought what better way to do that than with a new blog!  I hope you'll come visit me at  Project House to Home where I have a new house and all new projects to share!

Thanks so much for all your awesome support even when I was MIA.  :)

An Update...

Hello!  Where has the time gone?  Hard to believe we're a month into 2014 and I've yet to do a single post. Thank you to those who've checked  in on me.  I'm alive and well!

That's not to say that there haven't been some big changes in my life lately. The past 6 months have been a roller coaster of ups and downs, highs and lows.  For starters, this happened:

I'm not one to share too much of my personal life on this blog but long story short, Jake and I got divorced, we sold our house, and I've been living in a new apartment since November.

I also started a part-time job doing financial planning which has kept me pretty busy with little time to blog or do design work.  After a steady stream of business around the holidays, I decided to give myself a few months off to regroup, decompress, and figure out my new routine.

I have hopes of decorating my apartment and sharing some pictures and projects with you, but to be honest, right now things are looking less than stellar!  Moving from a 4 bedroom home to a 2 bedroom apartment is definitely a challenge.  Space is limited and I have a hodge podge of home furnishings.  I'm debating how much time/money/effort I want to put into this place since I only plan to be here 4 more months, but the decorator in me is going crazy!

I did snap some "before" photos of my apartment before I moved in so I'll share those with you soon and once I finish unpacking boxes (shh... I know it's been 2 months!) I will share some progress photos with you.

I miss all my blog friends and hope you're having a very happy and healthy 2014!

E-Design: CL's Finished Basement

I had the pleasure of working on a Decor To-Go package for CL who wanted help with her finished basement.  The space serves many purposes - her family uses it as a playroom, media room, workout room, and living space for guests.  She wanted to incorporate a new sectional but needed alternative solutions for storage and wanted to add some pops of color.

Here is the design I created for her:

Out of respect for my paying clients, I don't reveal sources for items used in the design.  However, if there's an item you're interested in, send me an email and I will provide the source for you.
