Nursery Mood Board

A friend of a friend is having a baby and she asked if I would help decorate her baby nursery.   Of course I said "Yes!".  It was a great opportunity to get some experience and also to learn what a room for baby is all about.

Her must-haves:

1) Gender neutral (not finding out the sex of the baby)
2) White furniture
3) Keep the existing full-size bed in the room

She also picked out this super cute crib bedding from The Land of Nod:

Based on her requirements, I developed this mood board:

The main color scheme will be gray, white and a yellow/orange, but I thought it would be fun to add pops of turquoise or aqua around the room too.  I think it's a color that works for boys or girls.

The decorative pillows (#8) are for the full-size bed and I think they will really help to tie the bed into the theme of the room.

I found all of the artwork on Etsy.  There is so much wonderful and unique artwork on there.

It will be fun to watch this room come together.  Once baby arrives, I think it will be easy enough to add more "masculine" or "feminine" touches if desired.

  1. So cute, grey and yellow is totally the new nursery color scheme, I saw another one on the Nate Berkus show the other day (not as cute as this one!). I'm loving the accent pillows and the pops of turquoise, great choices.

  2. cute! like the turquoise with the traditional yellow and gray
