Spring Days And Home Updates

Hello, Happy Monday!  It seems that Spring has definitely sprung and is here to stay.  May starts the season of graduations, weddings, religious ceremonies,  and backyard barbecues... and I love it.  My Facebook was aflutter with all the wonderful and fun things people were doing this past weekend and everyone just seemed so HAPPY. Sometimes, all it takes is a little sunshine and a little warm weather. :)

I've been a little caught up in the celebration of Spring myself.  My family got together  this past weekend to celebrate my sister Jen's graduation and Mother's Day.  Jen graduated from the University of New Hampshire where she received her Masters in Social Work.  I am so proud of her!

With all of  the fun I've been having, I've been neglecting my house a bit. But I do have a handful of projects in motion.  Earlier this month, I told you about the faucet replacement in our master bathroom.  That project was one of the many things I'm working on in there.  You might recall that when we bought the house the bathroom looked like this:

It's going to take some work to make it more our style.  Unfortunately this means evicting a couple of birds.

We wanted to give the room a mini-facelift without replacing the floors, toilet, shower, or vanity.  Everything's in pretty good shape and will definitely last us a while until we're ready to do a full bathroom renovation (years down the road).  The work we want to do includes:

  1. Replacing the faucet
  2. Replacing the toilet flusher
  3. Replacing the towel rack and toiler paper holder
  4. Painting the walls
  5. Painting the trim
  6. Cleaning mold and mildew from the ceiling
  7. Painting the ceiling
  8. Replacing the mirror
  9. Replacing light fixtures
  10. Changing hardware on the vanity
  11. Adding art/decorations
  12. Finding towel storage
  13. Adding window treatment for privacy
I've also been doing some work in the master bedroom.  I mentioned in this post that we were deciding whether or not to buy the Farmhouse dressers from Pottery Barn.  We ended up biting the bullet and buying them and I'm so glad we did.  I love them!  The room is starting to come together.  I can't wait to show you updates in a couple of weeks!
