Bye bye washer.

Our washing machine finally kicked the can.  Well, not completely. But I'm taking her off of life support. Gruesome, I know.

Don't get me wrong,  I loved her for almost a full year.  She was the first washing machine that I ever owned. When I met her, I was accustomed to walking up and down 4 flights of stairs to a shared laundry room that was almost always busy and usually didn't like whatever form of payment I had.  She saved me.

But she's old. And she kinda smells. And now she barely fills with water.  And her motor makes a weird humming sound. And I have like 27 loads of laundry to do. So she's not gonna cut it.

Bye bye washer. You might as well take dryer with you too.

I've found newer, slicker, prettier models to take their place AND I CANT FREAKING WAIT UNTIL THEY GET HERE!  (That's not shouting, that's excitement!)

We settled on the Samsung 3.7 cu. ft. washer and the Samsung 7.3 cu. ft. electric dryer.   They can be stacked or set up side-by-side. Our decision was based on a balancing act between cost and quality, and these models had a lot of positive reviews.  Of course, there were a few not-so-good reviews too, but I found that with other brands as well.  I really hope we like them!  We ended up buying them from Best Buy.  They were a little cheaper at Lowe's, but currently out of stock, and I need them ASAP.  I also heard good things about Best Buy's customer service which was especially important because I also heard that Samsung's customer service was a little tough to deal with.

I opted for plain old white (I mean brand spanking new shiny white!) instead of a cool color.  I know, I'm boring.  But I don't know what colors I'm going to use when I redo the bathroom and I didn't want to limit myself too much.

Once these bad boys arrive, I just may be persuaded to tackle the whole room.  It's in seriously sad shape.

I envision wainscoting, a pedestal sink, and a pretty laundry closet.  I scoured Pinterest for a little inspiration.  Aren't these laundry closets amazing?

Okay. Wipe the drool of your face and carry on with your Monday.  Have a great day everyone!

  1. Love the samples of laundry rooms/closets! I certainly had to wipe the drool off my face, as I still hike flights of stairs to do our laundry. Not for long, I hope! :D
